6 SYSTEM OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
6.1 POWER PACK START UP
1.
Ensure pump suction valves are open.
2.
Ensure all hoses are connected correctly.
3.
Ensure reservoir is full.
4. Start

motor, wait until starter switches to delta (approx. 5 seconds)
before starting second motor. Motor running light will only shine once motor
has switched to Delta.
6.2 REMOTE
CONTROL
BOX
The Remote box has a switch on procedure as follows:
1.
Ensure all detented toggle switches are in the down position.
2.
Switch on Remote Box.
3.
Go to HPU panel and press the Reset button twice.
4.
Remote Box is now active, indicated by yellow LED on the Remote Box.
Note :- The Remote Box switches itself off if there are no control activities. If this
happens the above procedure must be repeated.
6.3 WINCH
Controlled by proportional joystick on Remote Box, Pull to Hoist, Push to Lower.
The winch brakes lift automatically when the joystick is moved and are spring applied
when the joystick is returned to neutral.
The coiling gear is automatic and will alter its horizontal position to suit the umbilical.
If the coiling gear becomes out of synch, manual adjustments can be made by operating
push buttons on the Remote Box.
If the coiler develops a fault and stalls out against the end frame no structural damage
will occur
It is possible to then drive the coiler box back towards the middle of the drum using the
manual override push buttons, which will render the winch operational again.
It should then be possible to complete the recovery of the vehicle using the coiler manual
overrides. The fault on the system can then be investigated.
