How to mount the bicycles onto your bicycle carrier
Put the first bicycle into the first rail (which is closest to the vehicle) and fix it to the U-bar
with the corresponding clips by clamping them to the rails. Normally the second bicycle
should be put into the second rail in opposite direction to the first before fixing its wheels to
the frame holder. Fasten the wheels of the second bicycle like described for the first one.
Maybe you have to mount the bicycles in a different way on the carrier, namely individually
and staggered, if otherwise you are not able to fix them properly. After that you have to fas-
ten the bicycles with the long safety belt by placing it through their frames and around the U-
bar. Finally pull the safety belt tight (see images 1 and 2).
Clips for fastening the frames of bicycles with Y- and oversize frames are included in the
scope of delivery as well.
Perhaps you will have to change the clips for the frames to make sure that your bicycles are
fastened firmly.
How to fold down the bicycle carrier
Begin by pulling the safety bolt to the outside.
Warning: Before pulling this bolt out, hold
the U-bar or the bicycle frame with the other hand to prevent the carrier from folding
down suddenly.
When you lift the table of the carrier and pull out the safety bolt, you can
put the carrier into the right position for use again.
Warning:
Before you ride on make sure that the safety bolt has engaged and is blocking the
carrier from folding down!
Observe these safety instructions at all costs!
•
Check regularly if the carrier is mounted firmly on the vehicle, and if the bicycles are
fastened correctly onto the carrier before going on a ride and in between. This way
you can notice damages of the fastening elements at an early stage and repair them
in time!
•
Also check regularly if the lights of your carrier are working correctly before going on
a ride and in between!
•
New tow bars often are coated thickly with black lacquer. To mount your carrier as
firmly as possible, it is best to remove this lacquer coating with pickle or solvent, or
the like first!
•
Make sure that the safety bolt has engaged and that the mechanism for folding down
the carrier is blocked before you go on a ride!
•
If you use the carrier on the draw bar, see to it that the steering of your vehicle is not
restrained by it and that the clips for the draw bar are fixed properly.
•
If you want to use the carrier on the tow bar, make sure that the clips for the basic
carrier are fixed correctly.
•
The maximum speed is 80 mp/h (130 km/h).
Observe the mounting instructions closely to assure that the carrier is mounted properly and
firmly.
