CAUTION

Lift the load to the proper height 
making sure that you DO NOT 
strike the rack above.

NOTE

Steps 6 through 9, although listed 
as separate steps are combined 
together to produce one smooth 
motion for inserting the forks. This 
may require some practice to be 
performed smoothly and effectively.

6.

Pivot the mast out (to the right) 
about 45° while shifting to the 
left as far as aisle space will 
allow. See Figure 4-17. Be 
careful not to hit the opposing 
rack.

Continue pivoting the mast to 
the right while moving the truck 
forward to align the load to the 
rack. See Figure 4-18.

Be careful that the load does 
not hit the side of the rack as 
it is inserted. You may have to 
move the truck forward or 
backward to help provide 
clearance for the load to 
swing into the rack. Make sure 
the load is a few inches above 
the bottom rail of the rack and 
that it does not strike any 
cross members above.
