3-9.5 2225 Ra dius Rod In stal la tion Only —
For ma chines with even num ber of shanks
(See Fig ure 3-11).
a. In stall the ad just able end of the (2) long ra -
dius rods to the out side of the disc ad just
frame with 1" x 8" cap screws, nuts, and flat
wash ers. In stall the fixed end to the out side of
the rear disc frame arm with 1" x 4-1/2" cap
screw and nuts.
b. In stall one end of the short ra dius rod to the
in side of the disc ad just frame us ing the same
bolt the long ra dius rod is on. In stall the other
end of the short ra dius rod to the in side of the
right front disc frame arm with a 1" x 4-1/2"
cap screw and nut.
c. In stall one end of the me dium ra dius rod to
the in side of the disc ad just frame us ing the
same bolt that the long ra dius rod is on. In stall
the other end of the me dium ra dius rod to the
in side of the left front disc frame arm with a 1"
x 4-1/2" cap screw and nut.

Any number of shanks:
a. In stall the ad just able end of the (2) long ra -
dius rods to the out side of the disc ad just
frame with 1" x 8" cap screws, nuts, and flat
wash ers. In stall the fixed end to the out side of
the rear disc frame arms with 1" x 4-1/2" cap
screws and nuts.
b. In stall one end of the short ra dius rod to the
in side of the disc ad just frame us ing the same
bolt the long ra dius rod is on. In stall the other
end of the short ra dius rod to the out side of
the right front disc frame arm with a 1" x
4-1/2" cap screw and nut.
c. In stall one end of the me dium ra dius rod to
the in side of the disc ad just frame us ing the
same bolt that the long ra dius rod is on. In -
stall the other end of the me dium ra dius rod
to the out side of the left front disc frame arm
with a 1" x 4-1/2" cap screw and nut.
3-9.7 Re tract the disc ad just cyl in der com -
pletely. Ad just the ra dius rods to raise the
disc gangs to maxi mum height. (The disc
gang frame tubes should be 1/8" from the
main frame brack
ets.) Ad just left and right
disc gangs to the same height.

3-9.8 To op er ate the front and rear disc
gangs at dif fer ent depths, ad just the front
disc gangs lower by short en ing the front disc
ra dius rods. Front gangs should be set to run
1" to 2" lower than rear discs.
3-9.9 As sem ble the depth gauge to the main
frame us ing a u- bolt and nuts. Po si tion the
gauge un der the pointer on the disc ad just
frame.
