Place the frame on blocks or stands suf -
fi cient to lift the tire clear of the ground.

Re move the hub cap, cot ter pin, slot ted
nut and washer.

Re move the hub. Clean and in spect the
bear
ings and hub cav
ity. Re
place any worn
or de fec tive parts.

Re
pack the bear
ings us
ing a high-
quality wheel bear ing grease.

Re
place the hub with a new seal and
the in ner bear ing in place.

In
stall the outer bear
ing cone, washer
and slot ted nut.

Tighten the slot ted nut while ro tat ing the
hub un til there is a slight re sis tance to wheel
ro
ta
tion. Then, back the slot
ted nut off one
notch, un
til the wheel ro
tates freely with
out
end play.

In stall a new cot ter pin and re place the
hub cap.

leak age. Check fluid level with the cyl
in ders
in the re tracted po si tion.

If a cyl in der or valve leaks, dis as sem ble
the parts to de ter mine the cause of the leak.
Any time a cyl in der is opened up, or when -
ever any seal re place ment is nec es sary, it is
ad
vis
able to clean all parts and re
place all
seals. Seal kits are avail able from your Lan -
doll dealer.

Check all hy drau lic hoses weekly. Look
for bind
ing or crack
ing. Re
place all worn or
de fec tive parts im me di ately.

The serv
ice life of the Disc Chisel will

tended by proper off-
season stor
age
prac tices. Prior to stor
ing the unit, com
plete
the fol low ing pro ce dures:

Com pletely clean the unit.
b.
In
spect the ma
chine for worn or de
fec
tive
parts. Re place as needed.
c.
Re
paint all ar
eas where the origi
nal paint
film is worn off.
d.
Grease all ex
posed metal sur
faces of
shanks, points and discs.
e.
Lu
bri
cate each point of the ma
chine as
stated in
Sec tion 4-6.

Store the unit in a shed or un der a tar -
pau
lin to pro
tect it from the weather. The
ground tools and tires should rest on boards,
or some other ob ject, to keep them out of the
soil.
