controls. On the center of the face is a knob that selects the altitude for
cruise and the landing airport elevation during descent. The actual
cabin altitude will be controlled to 1000 feet above selected altitude.
This allows you to set landing field elevation and the cabin will
completely de-pressurize when descending to traffic pattern altitude.
The knob on the outside rim of the selector selects the rate of change of
the pressurization for cabin climb or descent.
Safe guards in the system include an automatic over-pressure valve and
a manual emergency dump switch. Detailed operation of the Dukes
Cabin Controller is covered in the Dukes operating handbook.
The indicator to monitor the system has two needles, and is located
next to the pressurization controller It indicates the inside cabin
altitude (large needle) and the pressure differential to the outside air
pressure (small needle). The maximum differential pressure is 5 PSI.
An electronic cabin pressure alarm, mounted under the pilot footwell
kickpanel, is set to trigger when the cabin reaches a 10,000’ altitude.
The warning will appear in the Garmin G900X master warning area.
The test button for this alarm is located under the instrument panel next
to the throttle.
OPERATION – TAKE-OFF & CLIMB
The aircraft can be operated in non-pressurized flight by PULLING the
CABIN PRESSURE control out which will divert pressurization air
overboard; this will also deprive the cabin of any heat. Although this
valve can be pulled at any time, it is recommended that it not be reset
(Pushed IN) above 20" hg. Additionally actuating the Cabin Dump
Switch will force the Dukes outflow valve to open and allow maximum
flow out of the cabin.
NOTE
The pressurization air is the only source of fresh
air to the cabin. To avoid stale cabin air, it is
recommended that the pressurization air be
routed to the cabin and the dump valve opened for
extended unpressurized flight.
For pressurized flight, ensure the Dukes Cabin Controller is properly
set, the Dump switch is closed, and the CABIN PRESSURE control is
PUSHED IN. If properly set for Field Elevation on take-off the cabin
should start to pressurize approximately 700 ft. above field elevation.
Once established in the climb, set the Cabin Controller to the cruise
altitude, and adjust the rate knob for comfort. Closely monitor the
