How to test for a short-circuit between 2
wires

Use a multimeter configured as an ohmmeter.
To test:

- The good condition of the cable throughout its length.

(The cable may be crushed between two mechanical
parts).

- Disconnect the system power plug
- Disconnect all the connectors for the harness to be

tested

- Measure the resistance between each set of wires

(The resistance must be infinite).

Depending on the make of multimeter,
The screen displays:
or : "OL"
or: The maximum measurable value
