4.1.1 General Information for the Installation
ATTENTION
Do not disassemble or open the device
The function of the measuring system might be lost partly or
entirely.
• Do not open or disassemble the measuring system. Other-
wise, the warranty will be void.
NOTICE
Tools
For assembly, use only checked and calibrated tools subjec-
ted to a quality system.
Screws and screwed connections
Unless otherwise specified, a friction coefficient of 0.14 is re-
quired for all screwed connections. Unless otherwise spe-
cified, a strength class of 8.8 (metric) or grade 5 (imperial) is
required for all screws.
4.1.1.1 Assembly Instructions for Tapered Shaft
Encoders
a) Block the drive shaft for the assembly.
b) Tighten the central screw of the tapered shaft.
c) Comply with the maximum permissible shaft offset.
d) Screw the stator coupling or the torque stop without pre-
load on the drive flange.
4.1.2 Montage

values without unit in the picture are given in mm [inch].
In order to simplify the drawings and information, unless oth-
erwise specified, the general tolerances with tolerance class
m
(medium) according to ISO 2768-1 apply.
