6.29 Startup fan.
When the stoker is in the ”STARTUP” period the fire is building up and, therefore, we do not wish to
blow too strongly as this will make the flames die out or will cool down the burnerhead so much that it
may be difficult to obtain a brisk and strong fire – in particular, this is the case when using grain as a fuel.

6.30 Startup oxygen limit value.
The control needs the oxygen value to find out if the fire has gone out.
This is why we have the parameter “OXYGEN LIMIT”. If the oxygen, during step 2 or 3, lies above this
limit for a longer period, the control will switch into the “START-UP” mode to carefully try to stimulate
and quicken the fire.
If this does not succeed within the above-mentioned ”START-UP PERIOD”, the plant will switch to stop,
one reason for this may be that the plant has run out of fuel.

6.31 Pause fan.
Each time the plant feeds a little fuel during the pause mode, the fan will also start up.
How strongly the fan should blow depends on the fuel; if the fan blows too weakly when using for
example grain as a fuel, the fire may die out – and if it blows too strongly when using an easily
combustable fuel, this will cause an increased danger of backfire.
