Wet End
10.1
Wet End Overview
The pump casing is cast as a single piece and is made of a high-chrome white iron for hardness and abrasion and corrosion
resistance. Custom materials are available for highly corrosive applications.
All standard impellers are double shrouded multi-vane designs. Open-shrouded and alternate vane number designs are available
in some sizes.
Refer to pump assembly drawings for flange bolting patterns.

Wet End Disassembly
WARNING
Refer to Section 2.9 "Assembly & Disassembly Safety" prior to working on the pump.
DANGER
Do not apply heat to the impeller hub or nose due to the sealed cavity at the impeller nose.
DANGER OF EXPLOSION!
10.2.1 Adjustable Suction Liner Removal
Loosen adjustment bolts to back off from suction
liner. Unscrew adjustment bolts far enough to
insure that suction liner can be retracted fully.
Tighten nuts on installation studs no more than 5
mm at a time to pull suction liner toward suction
plate using cross-torque technique described in
installation procedure. Repeat cross-torque pattern
until suction liner is flush with suction plate, if
possible.
Build-up of solids behind liner and shifting of the
snap ring gasket may prevent the suction liner from
fully retracting. In this case, retract suction liner as
far as possible using nuts on installation studs until
liner is well seated.
Tighten the nuts onto the fully threaded studs to
contact suction liner and prevent any axial shifting
of suction liner during disassembly.
Remove suction plate assembly from casing per
standard procedure
