2.4 Replacing the System Fans
In case of a defective fan or to clean the fans, the hot swap fan modules can be removed from the housing.
The fan module is changeable while the system is powered up.

The CP6930-RM24 Fan Module is similar to the CP6930-RM12 Fan Module except that a double height
module is used.
To replace the fan module, proceed as follows:
1. Ensure that the safety requirements indicated in chapter 2.1 Safety Requirements are observed.
2. Turn the thumbscrew on the front of the fan tray counterclockwise until the indicator has turned red.
3. Replace the fan tray.
4. Turn the thumbscrew clockwise until the indicator has turned green.
CAUTION
• Ensure that air flow around the device is adequate.
• Ensure that the air inlet and outlet openings are kept clear and
free from any obstructions.
Note...
Continuous operation of the CP6930-RM is permitted only with a functional fan
module. Short (<1 minute) interruption of the air flow is allowed for mainte-
nance purposes.
