AT8001 User’s Guide
Select Kontron T5002 x86 PC Target as your LSP.
Make sure
Use Custom Kernel
is selected.
Press the
Create
Button and now you should have all you need to build an image for the AT8001.
Adding Kontron Support Toolkit in your MontaVista CGE 3.1 image:
In the Target Configuration Tool select
View -> Package selector
from the menu (if the
View
menu is
disabled, you need to create or open a configuration file by selecting
File -> New config… / Open
config…
).
Select the
base
category, and if the installation was correctly done, there should be a new package
named “kontron_toolkit” available in the package list.
Note:
The Kontron support toolkit package is subdivided in three categories. The base category (needed
for the complete shutdown script), The IPMI category (needed for IPMI firmware update and IPMI
accessibility) and BIOS (needed for updating the bios flash device).
5.5.4
Building the image
If you don’t want to select package one by one, there is a file named
default.cfg
included with the
LSP that is an example of configuration for the image. Just put it in the project directory and select
it with
File -> Open Config…
Select
File -> Build Target
to build the custom kernel and to generate
fsimage.tar
in your project
directory that will include the kernel, the Kontron support toolkit and all selected packages.
WARNING
This image WILL NOT contain configurations for Kontron specific hardware. There
is a file named “
conf.tar
” in the LSP archive that include configuration file for
automatic drivers loading and support for the complete shutdown of the board.
5.5.5
Configuration Scripts
The LSP include
conf.tar
which is an archive of some scripts to configure at boot time, the Gigabit
Ethernet port, Fiber channel (SCSI and LAN) and IPMI Controller.
What “
conf.tar
” contain:
/etc/init.d/halt
Modified halt scripts to add support for a complete board shutdown.
/etc/init.d/bootmisc.sh
Create two symbolic device links (for ipmifwu and ipmitool).
/etc/modules
Drivers initialization and configuration.
The
halt
script add direct access to ACPI in the shutdown process (with the help of
PORT
and
PCITWEAK
tools) to have support for a complete shutdown of the board.
To use these scripts, just extract this archive from the root directory of the generated MontaVista
image.
