Warning
• The following procedure applies to DPF-equipped engines only.
- During normal engine running the warning light “
High exhaust gas temperature
” may appear on the main page. It
often indicates that an active automatic regeneration is underway.
- To avoid the need for a forced regeneration of the DPF when the machine is stopped, it is recommended to continue
to work until the warning light switches off.
Danger
During regeneration, exhaust gas may reach a temperature of 600°C. Pay special attention to the place where the machine
is positioned.
- It is possible to inhibit the active automatic regeneration in order to work in places where high temperature exhaust
gas cannot be released. Open the
DPF MONITOR
and hold the
UP
button (ref. 8, page 7) pressed until the status
changes from “
REGEN AUTO
” to “
REGEN INIBIT
”. The “
Active regeneration inhibited
” warning light will appear
on the main page.
- If the engine cannot perform automatic regeneration, the soot load will increase, and if a given threshold is exceeded,
the warning light
“Forced regeneration needed”
will appear on the main page. In this case it is necessary to park
the machine. Make sure the engine is hot (water temperature > 60° C), let it run at idle and from the
DPF MONITOR
page hold the DOWN button (ref. 9, page 7) pressed for a few seconds. Engine speed will increase automatically up
to 1,800 rpm (1,500 rpm in some ECU mappings) and the forced regeneration will start. The “
Forced regeneration
underway
” warning light will be on throughout the duration of the process. When the exhaust gas temperature
exceeds 450° C, the “
High exhaust gas temperature
” warning light will turn on. When the regeneration is underway
the engine speed cannot be adjusted.
Warning
It is recommended to keep the engine on until the regeneration process is completed. To stop forced regeneration,
press the DOWN button (ref. 9, p. 23) and hold it pressed for a few seconds from the DPF MONITOR page. This is for
emergency use only!
Danger
During regeneration, exhaust gas may reach a temperature of 600°C. Pay special attention to the place where the machine
is positioned.
- If the request for forced regeneration is overlooked, the soot load will increase and exceed another threshold. The
“
Forced regeneration needed
” warning light starts to blink and the
WARNING LAMP
switches on in the Display 1
warning lights box. The engine performance will be reduced. In this case you must perform the forced regeneration
immediately, as described above.
- If even this request is overlooked, the “
Service regeneration needed
” warning light will switch on, as well as the
WARNING LAMP
and the triggered
ALARM LED
(ref. 7). The engine performance drops considerably and can only
be restored after the intervention of an approved workshop.
Warning
For further information about the DPF regeneration process, please refer to the engine operation and maintenance
manual.
