The KODAK X-OMAT Multiloader 7000 is not medical equipment according to EN
60601-1 and must therefore, not enter the patient environment as defined by EN
60601-1-1. The following requirements have to be met:
1. Distance from the device to the Patient Contact Equipment, see the graphic:
Horizontal = 1.83 meters (6 ft.)
Vertical = 2.5 meters (8.2 ft.) above the floor under the patient
2. Contact of the patient and the device simultaneously by the caregiver is not allowed.
3. No direct electrical connection is allowed between the device and the Patient
Contact Equipment.
4. According to European EN safety regulations for medical devices, the KODAK
X-OMAT Multiloader 7000 must be properly connected to the Equipotential
Equalization Device, if the Multiloader is operated within a distance of 1.83 meters
(6 ft.) from a patient. The Device and the connecting cable must be provided by the
customer. The purpose of the Device is to ensure that all medical devices are
connected to the same ground potential.
