Instructions for Use
Electrosurgical Unit ME 102
V. 3.1
29
5.7
Cable Routing on the Patient
During simultaneous use of the monopolar and bipolar application ensure that the respective
lines have a minimum distance of 10 cm to each other. The lines must be laid out loosely and
without loops.
5.8
Putting Down RF Instruments
CAUTION
Danger of unintentional activation of RF current!
In the intervals between use do not place temporarily unused instruments on the patient.
5.9
Interference with Other Devices
The intentional use of high-frequency currents in electrosurgery may interfere with the
operation of other electromedical units (e. g. ECG monitoring) and electrical devices (e. g.
telephone, personal computer).
To avoid or reduce such interference, the following countermeasures can be taken:
•
Connect the unit to another mains circuit (another socket).
•
Increase the distance of the ME 102 to the affected device.
•
Use of a commercially available additional mains filter on the PC or the telephone system.
5.10
Accessories
•
Accessories for electrosurgical equipment must always be kept in flawless working
condition.
•
Use of uncertified accessories by other manufacturers may constitute a source of danger.
In case of doubt, contact Gebrüder Martin.
•
The accessory equipment must have sufficient dielectric strength. It must be suitable for at
least the voltages indicated in section 9 “Technical Data”, page 35.
