18 Installing the Cables
18.1 Safety Notes
WARNING
Risk of death by electrocution!
Touching live parts can cause life-threatening electric shock. Motor-driven, movable
components of the unit can cause injuries when activated accidentally.
Disconnect the suspension arm system from the mains before beginning any assembly or
adjustment work:
•
Turn off all phases of the power supply provided by the customer and secure against
accidental reactivation.
• Make sure that the unit is de-energized.
•
Provide protection by covers or barriers for any neighboring live parts.
WARNING
Risk of death by electrocution in case of insulation defect!
An insulation defect can electrify the suspension arm system or the CEMOR:
• Always earth the suspension arm system.
• The power lines and earthing cables must be unburdened from tension, using the strain
relief of the interface plate.
WARNING
Risk of injury from damaged power cables!
Damaged power cables can electrify the suspension arm system (230 VAC or 120 VAC).
• All cables must be checked for damage and be drawn in carefully without any overlaps,
loops or twists.
• Lay out cables in such a manner that they are not subjected to tension in any position.
• Cables must be led directly upwards out of the flange to avoid possible damage
(e.g. scuffing of the coating, etc.) and to ensure that all cables can rotate freely.
• Excess lengths of cable must never be placed in the CEMOR or on the flanges; they must
be placed on the interface plate and secured with cable straps so they do not fall off.
•
Electric cables must be laid according to the national regulations and standards (possibly
in a spiral-coiled tube).
