marTract® – Wound Retractor System
34
Revision 4
Fixing clamp
•
Open the clamping lever.
The imprint
OPEN
must now be visible. For easy attachment of the fixing clamp onto the holding arm,
spread the fixing clamp on the bottom part with your index finger and thumb.
•
The fixing clamp can now be attached to the holding arm. This is confirmed by an audible “click”.
The fixing clamp can now be freely moved on the holding arm and is secured against falling off.
•
After insertion of a wound retractor, the clamping lever is thrown, and the fixing clamp is closed.
Fixing clamp and instrument are now fixed. The imprint
CLOSED
is now visible. The clamping lever must not
be turned in closed state, to avoid damage to the fixing clamp.
•
To release the fixing clamp from the holding arm, open the clamping lever and remove the wound
retractor. Spread the bottom part of the fixing clamp with your index finger and thumb again, and pull
off the fixing clamp from the holding arm.
Wound retractors
Wound retractors can be either “swiveling” (with holding bar) or attached to so-called blade holders. The
holding bar can then be inserted into the fixing clamp and be adjusted according to the situs, see also
“Fixing clamp”, page 34.
Situs adjustment
•
Now adjust the situs using the fixing clamps and wound retractors of the system.
All blade holders, swiveling wound retractors and eccentric grips of the fixing clamps can be positioned
and adjusted in such a manner that the space required by the surgeon is not restricted.
•
Make sure that the patient is not endangered by manipulations during the surgery.
•
Regularly unburden the tissue.
