7. OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE
EVO units are designed for continuous operation. There-
fore, it is necessary to inspect the components that may be-
come unclean (filters, exchanger lamellas) or change due
to wear and tear caused by operation (V-belts, bearings).
Replacement of filters should be done after exceeding the
acceptable pressure drop at the filtration (Tab. 12) or ac-
cording to a visual decision in the automation system.
Recommendations for filter replacement according to PN-
EN 13779-2008 Pre-filters - up to 12m (2000h)
Secondary supply air filters - up to 24m (4000h) outlet fil-
ters - up to 24m (4000h)
In order to keep the unit in continuous operation, an
inspection should be carried out, consisting of
• checking the connections of all flanged and bolted el-
ements
• checking the protection against corrosion of individual
units
• checking the tension of the rotor drive V-belts
after 3-month periods:
• checking the tightness of the cooling system,
• checking the oil level in the compressors,
• checking the tightness of the glycol system,
after 6-month periods:
• checking the tightness of the cooling system,
• checking the oil level in the compressors,
• checking the tightness of the glycol system,
• checking the condition of the rotary exchanger drive
belt
• checking the cleanliness of the motor and gear reducer
of the rotary exchanger drive, clean if dirty
after 12-month periods:
• checking the cleanliness of heat exchangers and recov-
ery exchangers, if necessary, remove dirt with a vacuum
cleaner, soft brush or blow with air
• checking the cleanliness of the fans,
• and checking the tightness of cooling and glycol sys-
tems again.
• bearings as operating elements require inspection,
cleaning.
The drive belts of the rotary exchanger are operating el-
ements and should be replaced or reduce if an incorrect
tension is noticed.
The units are equipped with direct drive fans of „plug-fan”
type as standard.
The types of fan and motor bearings used are the data in
the Quality Control Certificate.
The bearings are factory filled with lithium grease, charac-
terized by high mechanical stability, resistance to aging,
anti-corrosion properties, operating range -30°C ÷ +130°C.
The grease content under normal operating conditions is
sufficient for the entire bearing life.
NOTE:
In periods resulting from the operating conditions of the
air handling unit, an inspection should be carried out for:
- Air dampers
Air dampers, especially on the side of outside air, must be
kept clean. Excess contamination may cause the blades to
remain ajar or the rotating mechanisms to seize. Air damp-
ers may be cleaned with an industrial vacuum cleaner with
a soft suction nozzle, blown through with compressed air
or washed with water under pressure and cleaning agents
that do not cause aluminium corrosion.
- Noise silencers
The silencer section is fitted with slotted levers filled with
non-flammable mineral wool and they should be checked
condition cleanness. The slotted levers are removable, but
they may be cleaned when they are in the unit. Clean with
a vacuum cleaner with a soft suction nozzle.
Operating notes for other functions according to chapter 4.
In periods resulting from the operating con-
ditions of the air handling unit, an inspec-
tion should be carried out for the individual
devices.
Technical data as well as type and designation
of the fan and rotor motor, circulation pumps,
heat exchangers, filters, as well as data from
the cooling system, are included on the above
mentioned products in the Quality Control
Certificate. Any repairs of the air handling
units should be carried out when the air han-
dling unit is switched off from the network.
Maintenance and repairs may be performed
by persons authorized to perform the above
mentioned works.
Cleaning and washing procedures should be
performed by persons trained in this subject.
Original cleaning or disinfecting agents sho-
uld be used. It is not allowed to use powders or
solvents, as it may cause scratching of the sur-
face or even deformation of washed elements
and, consequently, their damage.
