4 Safety requirements
4.1 General requirements to prepare the mower for operation, during
operation, maintenance, transportation
In case of mower maintenance, follow the Unified Requirements for the Construction of
Tractors and Agricultural Machinery for Occupational Safety and Health (ET-IV) and the General
Safety Requirements in accordance with GOST 12.2.042-91.
WARNING! IT IS PROHIBITED TO USE THE MOWER FOR PURPOSES OTHER THAN
INTENDED.
The mower has rotating working components of increased danger, therefore it is necessary to
strictly observe the following safety requirements when preparing the mower for operation,
during operation and during maintenance:
• only tractor operators who have studied this operating manual are allowed to service the
mower;
• before starting up the mower, it is necessary to make sure that the mowing knives are
securely attached to prevent their tearing off during operation. Check the mounting of the rotor
knives every 4 hours of the mower.
• check the reliability of fastening the rotors;
• check the space under the rotors for the absence of foreign objects and if they are found -
remove them;
• check the integrity of the awning and its attachment to the frame, if necessary, repair defects;
• carabiners of drive shafts protective casings chains must be fixed in special hinges;
• during sampling, start-up, transfer from the working position and back, as well as during
subsequent work, no unauthorized persons should be at a distance of less than 50 m from the
mower;
• close the doors of the tractor cab when the mower is working in conditions that cause dusty
atmosphere in the workplace of the tractor operator;
• during transport, the mower must be secured in the transport position as shown in figure 9.1.
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO OPERATE THE MOWER WITHOUT PROTECTIVE CASING!
IT IS FORBIDDEN TO:
• inspect the mower and carry out its repair or maintenance with the tractor engine on;
• moving a tractor with a mower without installing and fixing the cutting device in a vertical
(transport) position;
4.2 Fire fighting measures
Make sure that the tractor on which you work is equipped with a fire extinguisher.
