3.2.3 Cut device
Cut device is the main unit of the mower. Constituent units are shown in Figure 3.4.
Cut device includes seven (ZTT-2,8) or eight (ZTT-3,2), rotors 2, on each of which, two
mowing knives 3 are hinged (for ZTT-3,2 "Strige Y" 3 knives).
The torque from the tractor's power take-off shaft through the propshaft with the
overrunning clutch, the drive and the V-belt drive are transmitted to the bevel gear 4, and from
it through the gear system to the shafts of the rotors. Knives on the rotors are fixed articulated
and when the rotors rotate during operation, the mowers, under the action of centrifugal
forces, are self-aligned into the working position.
ATTENTION: It is necessary to constantly monitor the condition of the mowing
blades and the presence of lubricant in the reduction gear and crankcase of the
cutting device. The absence of lubricant can lead to overheating of the cutting
device and gearbox and their failure !
