3.2.2 Traction fuse
Traction fuse is designed to prevent damage to the elements of the cutting device and
gearbox when it collides with an obstacle (invisible in the grass stumps, stones, etc.).
The main elements of the traction fuse are shown in Figure 3.3. Using a plug 6, the fuse is
connected to a small bar, the hinged support 3 - to the frame of the sample.
Operation of the fuse is as follows. During normal operation of the mower, the thrust 4 and
the guide 2 are fixed by the shear element (bolt) 5 from the longitudinal movement, thus, the
cutter's mower is in its normal (working) position.
When the obstacle is hit, the bolt 5 is cut, allowing the pull rod 4 to move freely along the
guide 2 to the stop 1. At this, the cutting device of the mower rotates backwards along the
tractor's axis 9 (Figure 1.1) as the tractor moves, from the obstacle, reducing the likelihood of
damage to the elements of the cutting device and gearbox.
The traction fuse should operate at an effort of 3000 N (300 kg) applied in the middle of the
