10. Adjustments
NOTE :

When making adjustments, park the tractor on flat
ground and apply the parking brake.
10.1 Fan Drive Belt Tension
If the fan drive belt becomes loose, the engine may
overheat. Check the belt tension as shown below.
To adjust, loosen the adjusting bolt and tighten the
tension bolt to stretch the belt. After adjustment, se-
curely tighten the adjusting bolt.
Moderate belt tension : The belt should be approx.
10mm(0.394 in.) when the center of the belt is de-
pressed with a finger pressure of 44.1N (4.5 kgf, 9.9
lbs).

10.2 Clutch
Moderate clutch play ranges from 20 to 30 mm (0.79 to
1.18 in.).
If the clutch becomes difficult to disengage or pedal
play decreases, adjust the length of the clutch cable
after removing the pin. When the clutch is difficult to
disengage, shorten the cable. When the clutch play is
too little, extend the cable.

Adjustment of Clutch Pedal Free Travel
IMPORTANT :

Free travel of the clutch pedal is governed by the
clearance of release thrust ball bearing to the re-
lease levers. This clearance is set from 2.5 to 3mm
(0.098 to 0.12 in.) when the tractor leaves the fac-
tory, but this changes with use. If the pedal should
be used with no clearance, it will result in the sei-
zure of the release bearing or wear of the facing.
Therefore, be sure to check and adjust at each pe-
riodical maintenance service.
