Engine Oil Filter Cartridge Change
NOTE :
•
Be sure to stop the engine before changing the oil
filter cartridge.
1. The oil filter cartridge must be changed the first 50
hour and every 250 service hour.
2. Apply a light coat of oil onto the cartridge gasket.
3. To install the new cartridge, screw it in by hand.
Over tightening may cause deformation of rubber
gasket.
4. After the new cartridge has been replaced, the en-
gine oil normally decreases a little. Thus see that
the engine oil does not leak through the seal and
be sure to read the oil level on the dipstick. Then,
refill the engine oil up to the prescribed level.
When the engine oil is especially dirty, replace the oil
filter. Be careful at the time of disassembly so as not
to damage the relief valve, regulation valve, etc. Reas-
semble correctly as before.
After reassembly and starting the engine, the oil level
will drop by the amount of the oil that enters to the oil
filter. Start the engine once so that the oil will pen-
etrate to the various parts and check to see if there is
nothing abnormal in the oil pressure (the oil lamp will
go off.). Then stop the engine and add engine oil. Then,
restart for operation.
IMPORTANT :
•
To prevent serious damage to the engine, replace-
ment element must be highly efficient.
•
Use only a genuine
KIOTI
filter.
