Keysight Extended Power Range and Bias Tees 
Upgrade Kit Order Numbers: N5244AU-921 and N5245AU-921

Installation Procedure for the Upgrade

The network analyzer must be in proper working condition prior to installing 

this option. Any necessary repairs must be made before proceeding with this 

installation.

Overview of the Installation Procedure

“Step 1. Obtain a Keyword.”
“Step 2. Remove the Outer Cover.”
“Step 3. Remove the Inner Cover.”
“Step 4. Remove the Front Panel Assembly.”
“Step 5. Locate the Corner of the Test Set Motherboard Shown in Figure 1.”
“Step 6. Remove the A23 Test Set Motherboard.”
“Step 7. Inspect Test Set Deck Chassis to Determine if Tape is Needed.”
“Step 8. Remove Some Existing Cables.”
“Step 9. Assemble the A58 Bridge and A59 Noise Down Converter.”
“Step 10. Assemble the Noise Assembly onto the Bracket.”
“Step 11. Install the Switch to the Noise Assembly.”
“Step 12. Install the Noise Assembly to the Chassis.”
“Step 13. Assemble the A56 Port 1 Noise Bypass Switch onto the Bracket.”
“Step 14. Install the A56 Noise Bypass Switch.”
“Step 15. Install the Test Set Cables.”
“Step 16. Install the A9 Noise Receiver Board.”
“Step 17. Replace the Lower Front Panel Overlay.”
“Step 18. Reinstall the A24 IF Multiplexer Board.”
“Step 19. Reinstall the A23 Test Set Motherboard.”
“Step 20. Install the New Ribbon Cable on the A23 Test Set Motherboard.”
“Step 21. Reroute the A44 and A45 Bias Tees Wire Harnesses.”
“Step 22. Reinstall Front Panel Assembly.”
“Step 23. Position the Cables and Wires to Prevent Pinching.”

The next steps of this installation require the removal of the 

analyzer’s protective outer covers. The analyzer must be powered 

down and disconnected from the mains supply before performing 

these steps.
