Kelvinator Air Conditioning

Pump down

This is performed when the unit is to be relocated or
the refrigerant circuit is serviced. Pump Down means
collecting all refrigerant in the outdoor unit without loss
of refrigerant gas.

caution

Be sure to perform Pump Down procedure with the unit in
cooling mode.

Pump Down Procedure

1   Connect a low-pressure gauge manifold hose to the

charge port on the gas side service valve.

2   Open the gas side service valve halfway and purge the

air from the manifold hose using the refrigerant gas.

3  Close the liquid side service valve (all the way in ).
4   Turn on the unit’s operating switch and start the

cooling operation.

5   When the low-pressure gauge reading becomes 1 to

0.5kg/cm

2

(100~50kPa), fully close the gas side valve

stem and then quickly turn off the unit. At this time Pump
Down has been completed and all refrigerant gas will
have been collected in the outdoor unit.

•   When the ambient temperature is too low (lower than

17

O

C), the unit cannot be controlled by the remote

control to run at cooling mode, manual operation can
be taken. Manual operation is used only when the
remote control is disabled or maintenance is necessary.

•   Hold the panel sides and lift the panel up to an angle

until it remains fixed (clicking sound).

•   Press the Manual control button to select the AUTO

or COOL, the unit will operate under Forced AUTO or
COOL mode (see User Manual for details).

•  The test operation should last about 30 minutes.

Rated Capacity Test (Cooling mode)

•   Under Cooling Mode, set the air conditioner at High Fan

Speed and set the temperature to 17

O

C, then press the

TURBO button 6 times within 10 seconds (be sure the
indoor unit buzzes 6 times). The system will enter Rated
Capacity Test mode. The buzzer will keep on sounding
for 2 seconds when the fan speed reaches rating speed
and the compressor rotates at rating speed.

•   The air conditioner can enter the Rated Capacity Test

mode only when all the above conditions are met.

•  This mode will automatically de-activate after 5 hours.
•   During the Rated Capacity Test mode, if common

protection, ambient temperature limitation for start-up
and rotation frequency or de-frost protection occurs, the
test must be stopped.

Rated Capacity Test (Heating mode)

•   Under Heating Mode, set the air conditioner at High Fan

Speed and set the temperature to 30 C, then press the
TURBO button 6 times within 10 seconds (be sure the
indoor unit buzzes 6 times).
