Obtaining data

Generally, data is placed into a string or numeric variable. For example, a typical input sequence
in BASIC is:

PRINT #1, "ENTER 18"

LINE INPUT #2, CROSSPOINT$

In this example, the complete crosspoint string is placed in the CROSSPOINT$ variable.
