By default, the step sequencer plays patterns in the order that they are entered/played� However, you
can select the same playback patterns available in the Arpeggiator using the methods described in the
“Arpeggiator - Playback Pattern” section above�

After you have recorded a pattern of notes into the active Track of the step sequencer, you can save and
recall that pattern using the “Pattern Load/Save” menu� Access this menu by holding Shift and then holding
the “Pattern” button for 3+ seconds� The numeric 1-8 keys will light up at half brightness (dim), while the
most recently selected pattern will be lit at full brightness�
Loading a pattern: Press/release any of the numeric 1-8 keys to load a pattern into the currently active/
selected track�
Saving a pattern: hold any of the numeric 1-8 keys for 3+ seconds to save the currently active/selected
track’s pattern into that slot�

To adjust the sequencer master tempo, hold Shift and press “Tempo”� The current tempo is displayed on
the numeric keys and can be adjusted between 5 and 255 BPM using the left/right arrows� You can also tap
the tempo using the “Tempo” key� It takes four taps to set a new tempo, and the taps must be consistent
/- 10% accuracy or they will be ignored�

The QuNexus sequencer can synchronize to its own internal clock or to external MIDI and CV devices� The
default setting is “Auto”, which will use the internal sequencer until clock is received at either the USB or
Expander ports�
To change the clock source, enter the clock settings menu by holding Shift, pressing Tempo once, and
then pressing Tempo again for 3+ seconds� You are now in the Clock Sources menu� The octave left/right
buttons will switch between the Clock Sources Menu (left, default) or the Clock Destinations Menu (right)�
From the Clock Sources Menu you can select from the following sources:
•
Auto - Press the Tempo key
•
Internal Clock - Press the Seq key
•
CV 1&2 - Press the CV key (see section 3�8�1 for more information)
•
USB1 - Press the MPE/CH key and then the numeric 1 key
•
Expander - Press the MPE/CH key and then the numeric 2 key
