Installation site recommendations
KeContact R10 is IP44 protection class and can be installed indoors or outdoors with
proper weather protection.
The following criteria should be considered when choosing the location:
•
The device can only be installed for stationary applications.
•
Mount the device so that charging cables do not cover or cross pedestrian and
motorized traffic.
•
Do not install the device at locations where it is exposed to ammonia or
ammonia gas.
•
The mounting surface must be sufficiently stable in order to withstand the
mechanical forces.
•
Do not install the charging station at locations where falling objects could
damage the device.
•
The device should be protected against direct rain as far as possible to prevent
icing, hail damage or similar.
•
If possible, the device should be mounted out of direct sunlight; if overheated, the
device may go into protection and the thermal fuse could be triggered, interrupting
charging. (see chapter 7.3).
In order to guarantee IP44 protection also for the connections, after charging, it is
recommended that the car-side connector be plugged into the supplied wall bracket
and that the wall box-side connector be kept plugged into its housing.
