Unit functions
Emergency-stop pushbutton (battery-powered unit only)
When the emergency-stop pushbutton is pressed, all unit functions are switched off. To release the
pushbutton, it must be turned slightly in direction of the arrow.
Safety switch (battery-powered unit only)
If the operator becomes trapped between the machine and an obstacle while the unit is being driven in
reverse, the safety switch disables the drive motor.
Drive batteries (battery-powered unit only)
With standard production units, the control electronics are factory-calibrated for the use of low -
maintenance lead-acid storage batteries. If batteries of this type are replaced by maintenance-free gel-
type batteries, the setting of the microswitch on the A2 control module must be changed from the
symbol to the position
The charge status of the batteries is displayed by the four indicator lights on the instrument panel.
When the red indicator lights, the batteries have been discharged to their minimum permitted charge
level, and the brush motors and suction turbine are automatically switched off. However, it is still
possible to drive the unit to the nearest charging station.
Charging unit with programming abilities
These units can be ordered either with or without the charging unit and batteries. When it is ordered
with charging unit and batteries the charging unit is preadjusted for the type of batteries in the unit.
When the charger is ordered separately you must use the following kit for proper programming of the
charger: soft- and hardware kit 6.647-652. The procedure can be found in the enclosed handbook of
the kit. When this procedure is not done the batteries will not be charged properly.

Charging procedure
- Remove the plug from the unit and connect it with the charging unit
- Connect charging unit to the mains
- Red LED indicates the charging procedure
- Green LED indicates the end of the charging procedure
- When the red LED is flashing no charging procedure takes place, there is a fault present
Please observe the operating instructions of the charging unit.
Modification from BR to BD unit version
In the event that the cleaning head of the machine is modified to accept disc brushes instead of brush
rollers, the setting of the microswitch on the A2 control module must be changed from the BR symbol
to the BD position.
