Troubleshooting – BR/BD 550 (mains-powered unit)
Problem
Cause
Remedy
1. Red indicator light
for brush overload
illuminates
Overloaded brush motors
Reduce contact pressure of cleaning
head, select appropriate brush type.
2. Brush rollers/
brush discs fail to
rotate with
cleaning head
lowered.
Brush motors were disabled
after approx. 5-second overload.
Switch the unit off at the main switch,
raise the cleaning head. Then switch on
unit once more, if red indicator light
illuminates (see item 1).
Defective brush roller/disc brush
driver
Replace brush rollers/disc.
Defective brush motor fuse
(F4/F5).
Check and/or replace fuse. Investigate
cause of fuse failure (refer to item 10,
below).
Defective, misadjusted or
incorrectly connected
microswitch (S6).
Check microswitch and/or adjust setting.
Replace if required. Ensure proper
connection.
Defective drive belt (BR 550) or
angle transmission (BD 550).
Replace drive belt/angle transmission.
Solenoid (K1) does not ac tivate. Check solenoid. Replace if required.
Brush roller/disc brush motor
without power.
Check connection cables.
Defective brush motor (M2/M3). Replace drive motor.
3. No water, or
insufficient water
feed.
Empty fresh-water tank.
Refill tank with fresh water, or hang
suction pump into dirty-water tank
(recycling mode).
Bent or blocked hose.
Check and/or clean hose.
Pump not purged (air in pump).
Switch off suction turbine, cycle water
pump on/off several times until water is
being delivered.
Blocked filter on water pump.
Clean filter. Replace if required.
Defective throttle valve actuating
mechanism, or throttle valve
blocked.
Check and/or adjust actuating
mechanism, clean throttle valve.
Blown water pump fuse (F3).
Check and/or replace fuse. Investigate
cause of fuse failure (refer to item 10,
below).
Defective of misadjusted
microswitch (S3).
Check and/or adjust microswitch.
Misadjusted switching cam.
Adjust switching cam.
Water pump without power.
Check connecting cables.
Defective water pump (M1).
Check water pump. Replace if required.
