Prior to using your light box, please read these instructions
carefully. Keep them safe to have them at hand at any time.
If you pass the light box on to somebody else, always in-
clude these instructions.
1. Intended use
The "prolite LED” light box is intended to be used for transil-
lumination of transparent originals (like slides or foils for ex-
ample) or of other materials. It is not intended for use in other
applications.
Use this light box only as described in these instructions.
Any other use has to be considered as not as intended and
can result in material damage or physical injury. This light
box is not a toy.
Kaiser takes no responsibility for damages caused by not in-
tended or incorrect use.
2. Safety instructions
Please observe the following safety instructions:
WARNING!
Disconnect the devices (light box, mains adapter) from
mains before cleaning and maintenance.
Keep the products away from children.
Do not put the devices into operation, if housing, plugs or ca-
bles are damaged.
Do not disassemble or modify the products. Repairs must
only be carried out by qualified persons.
Neodymium magnets have a very high magnetic pull. Always
make sure that there is enough distance between the mag-
nets so that they cannot gravitate towards each other. In the
event of a crash, the magnets could be damaged; they could
crack.
There is a risk of injury!
Also keep the magnets away
from devices that could be interfered with or damaged by the
magnetic field (e.g. monitors, hard disks, credit cards,
watches, pacemakers, etc.).
CAUTION!
Only use the light box with parts designed for it.
Use the devices only in dry rooms.
Keep the devices away from water and other liquids and
from combustible materials.
Do not use or store the devices at places with extremely high
air humidity or at extremely hot places. Keep the devices
away from direct solar radiation.
Prior to boxing the devices, let them cool down.
Do not place metal parts or subjects with sharp edges on the
surface of the light box to avoid scratches.
3. Check devices and scope of supply
When unpacking the devices for the first time, please check
if the scope of supply is complete. It comprises:
- prolite LED light box
- mains adapter (7)
- mains lead, 2.50 m (8)
- 2 neodymium magnets (9)
- 2 M6 square nuts (10)
Check also, if the devices are damaged by extraneous caus-
es. If this is the case, do not take the devices into operation.
4. Connecting the mains adapter (fig. B)
Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the operating
voltage given on the mains adapter (7) included. Take care
that the light box is switched off: the switch (4) has to be in
the “O” position.
Insert the plug (5) of the connecting cable (6) in the socket
(2). Then connect the mains adapter (7) to the mains with the
mains lead (8).
5. Initial operation
Switch on the light box using the switch (4).
Brightness can be adjusted steplessly by rotating the dim-
mer control dial (3).
Originals can be fixed with magnets right next to the illumi-
nated area (1) (fig. C). Two strong neodymium magnets (9)
are included in the scope of delivery for this purpose.
Warning:
Neodymium magnets have a very high magnetic
pull. Always make sure that there is enough distance be-
tween the magnets so that they cannot gravitate towards
each other. In the event of a crash, the magnets could be
damaged; they could crack.
There is a risk of injury!
Also
keep the magnets away from devices that could be inter-
fered with or damaged by the magnetic field (e.g. monitors,
hard disks, credit cards, watches, pacemakers, etc.).
Switch off the light box with the switch (4), when it is not in
use. Then disconnect the mains adapter (7) from the mains.
6. Attaching / Using accessories
On all four side sections of the light box there is a 6 mm T-
slot rail (13), which is compatible with various connecting
and accessory parts for 6-slot profile systems. This enables
installation in appropriate systems and installations as well
as the attachment of accessories to the light box.
On each of the short sides of the light box, there is a fixed
sliding block (12) in the T-slot (13) (fig. D). The free internal
M5 threads of the sliding blocks are intended for fastening
the support bracket (14), which is available as an optional ac-
cessory (fig. F). This support bracket can also be used to
mount the light box on a wall (fig. G).
