SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• For outdoor use.
• Familiarise yourself with the product. Read all the instructions
and warning labels on the product before using it, to
understand its applications, limitations and potential risks.
• Do not use drugs, alcohol or medication. Never use the
product if you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol or medication.
• Avoid dangerous operating conditions. Keep the work area
clean and well lit. Cluttered work areas increase the risk of
accidents and injuries.
• Do not use the product in damp or wet areas. Do not expose
the product to rain.
• Do not use the product in explosive environments, for
example near flammable liquids, gas or dust.
• Always check the product before use. The guards and safety
devices must be in place and work properly. Remove any
adjuster keys and the like before starting the product.
Replace damaged, missing or defective parts before use.
• Do not wear loose-fitting clothing, jewellery or a watch that
can get caught in moving parts.
• It is recommended to wear safety gloves that are not
electrically conductive and non-slip shoes. Wear a hair net if
you have long hair.
• The product can eject objects that can cause permanent eye
injuries. Wear safety glasses. Normal glasses only have
shock-resistant lenses. They are not safety glasses.
• Unsuitable extension cords can risk causing a fire and/or
electric shock. Check that the cross-sectional area of the
extension cord wires is adequate for the power supply to the
motor.
• Do not use insufficiently insulated connections. Connections
must be appropriate for outdoor use.
• Check that the rated voltage on the type plate corresponds
to the mains supply voltage, and that the circuit is correctly
fused, earthed and fitted with a residual current device.
• The product must only be connected to an earthed power
point. Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as
pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators.
• Never open the pushbutton box on the motor. The box must
only be opened by authorised electricians.
• Do not touch the metal parts on the plug when plugging or
unplugging it.
• Keep onlookers and children at a safe distance. The product
must only be used by one person at once. Keep children and
onlookers at a safe distance when using the product. Never
allow anyone to help you release logs that have got stuck.
• It does the job better and more safely when used at the rate
for which it was designed. Do not use the product for any
other purpose than the one it is intended to be used for.
• Do not overreach.
• The surface must not be slippery.
• Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.
• Never stand on the product. Serious personal injury can
occur if the product tips over, or if you come into contact
with the blade or other moving parts. Do not store anything
above or near the product, where someone could be
tempted to stand on it to reach up.
• Do not attempt to add or remove logs until the piston has
stopped in its home position.
• Keep your hands away from moving parts.
• Keep your hands at a safe distance from the saw blade and
from cracks that open up in the wood. Such cracks may close
suddenly and crush or amputate your hands.
• Do not attempt to release a log that has got stuck with your
hands.
• Never leave the product unattended when it is running.
• Do not leave the product before all moving parts have
completely stopped.
• Pull out the plug when the product is not in use. Always pull
out the plug before adjusting, replacing parts, cleaning or
maintenance.
• Look after the product. Keep the product clean for better and
safer work.
• Store the product out of the reach of children and
unauthorised persons.
REMAINING RISKS
• The use of the product can involve the following risks:
– Risk as a result of contact with moving parts.
– Risks as a result of the blade breaking or shattering.
• These risks are more pronounced in the following instances:
– When in the work area.
– In the vicinity of rotating machine parts.
• Even if the product is used in accordance with the
instructions it is impossible to rule out all risk factors.
The following risks remain:
– Risk of hearing impairment.
– Risk of accidents caused by the uncovered part of the
saw blade.
– Risk of personal injury when replacing the saw blade
– Pinch risk when opening the guard.
• Check the brake function before use. Start the product and
run the motor at idling speed, then switch it off and check
how long it takes to come to a standstill.
• Only use saw blades that conform with EN 847-1:1997.
• If the product is used indoors it must be connected to an
external chip and sawdust extraction system.
• The product must be connected to a mains supply with a
residual current device.
ADJUSTMENT AND MAINTENANCE
• Check before use that the inner and outer blade guards,
right and left moving table guards, as well as the blade and
the inner and outer blade flanges are in good condition.
• Move the log cradle forwards and check that the moving
guards on the right and left-hand sides come into contact
with the outer and inner blade guards.
• Switch off the product and pull out the plug after use. Clean
the product and store it in a well-ventilated area.
