Installation
4.1.3 Power supply
The mains voltage must not be interrupt-
ed (e.g. via a light switch).
If the water softening system does not have
a permanent power connection,
– Regeneration will not take place,
– No fault warnings will be output.
– Water leakage or even water damage
may occur during a regeneration as a re-
sult of a loss of power.
4.2 Installation of the water sof-
tening system
The two individual softeners are connected
to the pipe via the parallel quick-assembly
kit (JQT) The spatial requirements of the
system can be found in chapter 9.3 “Installa-
tion dimensions”.
A rotary flange fitting (JQE) is included with-
in the scope of supply of the parallel quick-
assembly kit (JQT).
4.2.1 Installation of the rotary flange
fitting (JQE)
The rotary flange fitting serves as a connect-
ing piece between the pipe and the water
softening system.
It is suitable both for horizontal and vertical
pipes.
The installation height depends on the pipe
course. If the salt reservoirs are placed near
the water softening system, the minimum in-
stallation height of the water softening sys-
tem from the floor to the rotary flange fitting
is 55 cm.
The rotary flange fitting must be installed
in the direction of flow. This is indicated
by an arrow integral with the casting (see
fig. 2) .
If this requirement is ignored, the water sof-
tening system will not work.
When installing the rotary flange fitting,
please proceed as follows:
– Close shut-off valve for the water supply.
– Re-open the shut-off valve after install-
ing the rotary flange fitting and flush the
water pipe. The rotary flange fitting is still
sealed by the black mounting cover.
– Then close the shut-off valve once
more.
The flange surface of the rotary flange fitting
must be upright! The rotary flange fitting
must be fitted so that it is free from mechan-
ical stress or strain. Otherwise mechanical
damage of the rotary flange fitting may re-
sult. This can result in severe water dam-
age.
Therefore when installing, ensure that no
large forces act on the pipe, rotary flange fit-
ting or water softening system.
4.2.2 Installation of the parallel
quick-assembly kit (JQT)
– After flushing the water pipe, remove the
black mounting cover of the rotary flange
fitting.
– Check whether the profile of the profile
flange seal is pointing toward the rotary
flange fitting (see fig. 2).
– Connect the flange of the parallel quick-
assembly kit to the rotary flange fitting by
A splash-proof socket, complying
with the legal regulations for wet are-
as, is required for the power supply
unit.
