12 MAINTENANCE
121 SAFETY MEASURES
Before performing any maintenance work, the following
activities must be performed:
• Check whether all parts of the stove are cold.
• Check whether ash is fully extinguished.
• Wear personal protection equipment as per Directive
89/391/EEC.
• Check whether the master switch is in the off position.
• Check whether power can accidentally be restored,
remove the plug from the electrical socket.
• Always use tools appropriate for maintenance work.
• After finishing maintenance activities, and prior to
restarting the stove, all guards must be reinstalled and
all safeguarding devices must be reactivated.
Use of an appropriate vacuum cleaner (industrial model)
may facilitate cleaning of ash
122 ORDINARY MAINTENANCE AT THE
USER’S PLACE
1221 Cleaning of the combustion chamber’s interior
The stove requires simple but frequent cleaning in order
to ensure its efficient operation and regular work.
This cleaning must be performed when the stove is shut
down and cold
Open the door of the furnace using the handle (fig. 12.1).
Remove the ash deposited in the furnace.
The purpose of this cleaning is to ensure circulation of air
for combustion through the GRATE’s holes.
Raise and remove the brazier, and clean the surfaces and
interior of the furnace (fig. 12.2).
Reinsert the brazier, making sure that it fits perfectly in
its place.
1222 Cleaning of the ash pan
The ash pan should be cleaned every week or more
frequently, if necessary.
To gain access to the ash pan, open the ash pan door and
remove the ash pan (fig.12.3).
Empty the pan into a metal container suitable for collec
collecting ash, and vacuum ash from the pan’s space.
Put the ash pan back in place. Close the door.
1223 Cleaning the smoke collector’s housing
The smoke chamber should be cleaned every 3 months or
as necessary.
Using a flexible brush, clean the 4 pipes of the exchanger
found in the combustion chamber (marked by dots)
(fig. 12.4).
Any residue that falls into the smoke collector must be
removed by a vacuum cleaner suitable for ash.
1224 Cleaning the glass door
The stove is equipped with a unique glass door self-cleaning
system, which reduces the frequency of maintenance.
Nevertheless, as time passes, and depending on working
conditions and the type of granulates used, the glass door
must be cleaned manually.
This activity is performed using a damp cloth or moist
paper that has been immersed in ash (fig. 12.5).
