CARE AND STORAGE
Cleaning
• If the camera or the outside of the lens is dirty, gently wipe it with a soft, clean, dry cloth. If the cam-
era or lens comes in contact with sand, gently blow away loose particles. Wiping may scratch the
surface.
• To clean the lens surface, first blow away any dust or sand, then, if necessary, moisten a lens tissue
or soft cloth with lens cleaning fluid and gently wipe the lens.
• Never use organic solvents to clean the camera.
• Never touch the lens surface with your fingers.
Storage
• Store in cool, dry and well-ventilated place away from dust and chemicals.
For very long periods, store the camera in an airtight container with a silica gel drying agent.
• Remove the batteries or the CF card from the camera when not in use for an extended period.
• Do not store the camera in the closet with mothballs.
• We recommend you to press the shutter-release button sometimes during the storage. Also, check
the camera’s operation to make sure it is functioning properly before using.
Before Important Events such as a Wedding Ceremony, Overseas Travel
• We recommend you to check the camera’s operation beforehand or take test pictures, and to pre-
pare spare batteries.

• Do not subject the camera to shock or impact.
• Turn off the power of the camera when transporting.
• This camera is neither waterproof nor splashproof.
Inserting or removing batteries and the CF card, or operating the camera with wet hands may daage
the camera.
When using the camera at the beach or near water, take care not to drop water or sand on the cam-
era. If water, sand, dust or salt content accumulates on the camera, it may cause the malfunction.
• Do not leave the camera under direct sunlight. Do not point the lens at direct sunlight. Doing so,
CCD may be damaged.
