SELECTING THE FLASH MODE
1 1 Rotate the function dial to and press the MENU button.
• The recording mode menu is displayed on the LCD monitor.

the desired flash mode in
highlighted and press the
key to finish the setting.
• The flash mode changes in the follow-
ing order.
3 Press the or key so that
[MODE] is highlighted and press
the key.
FLASH
With this camera, the following 5 flash modes are available. You can select them according to your
purpose or condition.
The flash fires automatically when the light level
is low or the subject is backlit.
The flash fires every time a picture is taken
regardless of the brightness.
Select this mode to reduce the harsh shadows
when you take the picture outdoor and the sub-
ject’s face is shaded with a hat and so on.
The flash does not fire. Select this mode when
taking a picture in the place where the flash pho-
tography is prohibited such as in a museum, etc.
The flash fires the short burst 2 times before the
main flash burst for reducing the red-eye phenome-
non. Select this mode when taking the picture of
people or animals in the dark
*The flash fires even in long shutter night mode,to
get satisfied exposure on subject and background.
