Utilizing
“Security”
feature to protect your router from being attacked.
System Security Settings
➢
Remote Management:
Disable/Enable this feature to forbid/allow access to the
configuration page via WAN IP address.
➢
Management Port:
Set up a WAN port if you enable remote management. (8086
by default)
➢
Filtering Ping form WAN:
Enable this feature to protect your router from potential
attack by preventing your WAN IP address from being pinged by anyone from the
external network.
➢
Block Port Scanning:
Enable this feature to protect your router from hackers that
send client requests to a range of TCP port addresses on a host, with the goal of
finding an active port and exploiting a known vulnerability of your network.
➢
Block SYN Flood:
Enable this feature to protect your router from hacks that send a
range of SYN requests to a target's system with the goal of consuming enough server
resources to make the system unresponsive to legitimate traffic
➢
SPI Firewall (Stateful Packet Inspection Firewall):
Enable this firewall to monitor
the status and activity of network connections travelling across your router and block
those might bring danger to your network.
