Section 6: Electrical System
NOTE: The touchscreen system may require periodic updates and/or
downloads. The age of your device or hardware configuration changes
may prevent your device from accepting or installing a new system update.
If you receive notification that an upgrade is available, please contact Fire
Fly Integrations for further information ( http://www.fireflyint.com ). Version
number information for your touchscreen is found on the Settings screen of
your touchscreen.
Firefly Multiplex Lights and Shades
The Spyder/Firefly multiplex system controls most interior/exterior lighting and power day/
night shades in the RV.
The MAIN POWER switch located at the stepwell must be turned ON to enable the multi-
plex system.
The multiplex switch panels are backlit and when a switch is selected it will light up indicat-
ing it is ON. Pressing the switch a second time turns it OFF.
Depending on your model, the switches may be wired into the electrical system and do not
use batteries. Some switch panels are wireless and uses a coin cell battery on the back of the
switch panel. Over time, this battery will require replacement. Contact your dealer should
you require maintenance on the switch panel.
Power Control (Energy Management) 50A System
Key features of the Power Control System include:
 Helps use 50 Amp service where 30 Amp service is available. Limits total current
to 30 Amps when 50 Amp service is not available.
 Minimizes circuit breaker tripping
 Monitors current draw for the entire RV including loads added by the owner.
 Learns controlled appliance current draw.
 Allows (2) air conditioners to run on 30 Amp service when other appliances are
not in use. Panel has built-in relays to control (2) air conditioners.
 Has built in 120VAC sense circuitry so it does not draw on the battery when shore
power is available.
 All relays are normally closed allowing full operation of appliance in case of fault.
Operation
This system monitors incoming power and has
the ability to turn off a few select loads. It man -
ages incoming power and avoids tripping the
shore circuit breaker.
When plugged into full 50 Amp shore power, or if
the generator is running, the system does nothing
as there is ample power available to operate all
circuits in the RV.
When the RV is plugged into a 20 Amp or 30 Amp power supply, the system will attempt
to keep the total coach 120 VAC current draw under a threshold to prevent tripping the
shore circuit breaker. The AC Amp readout on the display tells how much current is flow -
ing through the system so you can compare it to the shore power the coach is connected to.
When 30A is illuminated on the display, press the “Select” button and toggle between 20A
