10.8 5100 Trailer Mixer Components

1. Mixer Drum
– Contains the feed while it is
cut and mixed by the vertical auger.
2. Vertical Auger
– Mixes the feed within the
mixer drum and discharges the feed through
the unloading door.
3. Auger Knives
– Cut the feed material as the
auger rotates.
4. Battery
– Provides power to the electric
engine starter, electronic scale system,
hydraulic oil cooler fan, hydraulic valve
solenoids, and auxiliary components (if
applicable).
5. Control Pendant
– Controls door opening
and auger on/off.
6. Hydraulic Oil Reservoir/Cap
– Remove the
cap to add oil. The glass level sight on the
side of the reservoir indicates proper oil level
range.
7. Electronic Scale Indicator
– Displays the
feed weight inside the drum.
8. Unloading Door
– Can be opened to
discharge the feed.
9. Adjustable Clevis Trailer Coupler
– Will couple
to a standard Class I or Class II drawbar
(standard 2-inch trailer ball hitch is also
included).
10. Trailer Jack
– Raises and lowers the height of
the trailer tongue and coupler.
11. Fuel Tank/Cap
– Remove the cap to add fuel.
12. Engine Start Key
– starts the engine.
13. Engine Oil Dipstick
– indicates the proper oil
level range.
14. Engine Choke
– Used to restrict air flow while
starting the engine.
15. Engine Throttle Control
– To increase engine
speed, push the throttle lever upward; to
decrease engine speed, push the throttle lever
downward.
16. Hydraulic Oil Cooler Fan Override
– Normally,
the fan is activated by an internal temperature
switch. However, while the override button is
pressed in the fan will run (with engine on). Test
daily before feeding to make sure cooler fan is
functioning.
