Vertical mixer owners
MUST
give operating instructions to operators or employees before allowing
them to operate the machine, and at least annually thereafter.
•
The most important safety device on this equipment is a
SAFE OPERATOR
. It is the operator’s
responsibility to read and understand
ALL
safety and operating instructions in this manual and to
FOLLOW THEM
.

Jaylor feels that a person who has not read and understood all operating and safety instructions is
not qualified to operate the machine. An untrained operator exposes himself and bystanders to
possible serious injury or death.
•
Do not modify the equipment in any way. Unauthorized modification may impair the function, safety,
and life of the equipment as well as possibly voiding the warranty.
•

7.4 General Safety
•
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before operating, servicing, maintaining
or adjusting the vertical mixer.
•
When parking the mixer, place on a flat, level surface, put controls in neutral, apply parking brake
if equipped (if not, block wheels), stop engine, remove ignition key, and wait for all moving parts
to stop.
•
Only trained competent persons shall operate the vertical mixer. An untrained operator is not
qualified to operate the machine.
•
Do not allow riders on the vertical mixer.
•
Wear protective gear such as hearing protection, footwear with slip resistant soles, and the like.
•
Do not operate this machinery under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication.
•
Review safety related items annually with all personnel who will be operating or maintaining the
vertical mixer.
7.5 Operating Safety
•
Read and understand this manual and all safety signs before using.
•
When parking the mixer, place on a flat, level surface, put controls in neutral, apply parking brake
if equipped (if not, block wheels), stop engine, remove ignition key, and wait for all moving parts
to stop.

When loading, park mixer on a flat, level surface, place controls in neutral, and apply parking
brake if equipped (if not, block wheels).
•
Keep body parts away from unloading door when open.
•
Do not protrude feet outside the platform while traveling (5050 and 5100 self-propelled models).
•
Do not operate when any guards are damaged or removed.
•
Keep hands, feet, clothing and hair away from all moving and/or rotating parts.
•
Do not allow riders on the machine.
•
Clear the area of bystanders, especially children, when operating.
•
Make sure you follow all local regulations regarding transporting equipment on public roads and
highways.
•
Before starting, make sure hydraulic system is not leaking, hydraulic hoses and wiring are in
good condition, and that the platform and engine area are free of debris.
