ROLLER HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT _____________________________________________
The roller can be adjusted in one of seven positions. The hole
position and the tine length determine the working depth. Never
operate the aerator with the stop hardware
(H)
removed.
Start the tractor and lift the aerator until the roller is 6 inches off the
ground. Support the roller, loosen roller pivot hardware
(J)
1/2 turn
and remove the hair pin and the clevis pin
(K)
from both sides of the
roller.
Use the aerator height tool
(L)
on the pinion rod
(M)
to lift or lower
the roller until the clevis pin can be inserted in the correct set of
holes. The pinion rod will adjust the roller to the same height on both
sides of the aerator.
NOTE:
The multi tool
(N)
can be used with the height tool
(L)
as
shown to provide additional leverage to adjust the roller.
Operate the aerator in a test area
Use the hole position chart as a place to start. Better results may
result if you use a different hole. The best results will be reached if
the tines are vertical or tilted slightly under the machine as the tine
enters the soil.
Each 100 hours check the roller stop bushings
(G)
for damage.
The working depth
(X)
can be calculated by subtracting the roller height setting
(Z)
from the length of the tine below the
tine block
(Y)
.
