III.5.2.1
Description
The mechanical release is composed of the following elements:
•
Two handles (ref.: 910 3203) are held in standby position by a locking pin (ref.: 910
2729B) made of PVC material, equipped with cotter pins.
•
Mechanical releasing is achieved after 180° rotation of one of the two handles (ref.:
910 3203).
Both sides are identical. Either handle can be rotated independently from the other that

Grasp one of the two handles (ref.: 910 3203) with the hand of the ROV.
2.
Rotate the handle of 90° in the direction indicated by the arrow painted on the frame
Torque = 2.5 mdaN.
The locking pin breaks (ref.: 910 2729B).
3.
Rotate the handle during the second quarter turn (90°).
The two supporting yokes (ref.: 910 2709C) rock about the pin (ref.: 910 2712), driving
the fork-shaped hook item (ref.: 910 2893A), which clears from the locking pin
(ref.: 910 1550). The mechanical releasing system is triggered.
4.
Pull the wire rope connecting the ship to the HD100 Heavy Duty releasing system will
allow the hook to open and set the ring free (a force of 300 daN is sufficient with a hook
coated with grease).
