2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This section contains some tips on safe operation of the Hanito series devices.
1.
Only battery types approved by the manufacturer should be used. If batteries from other sources are
used, personal injury or damage to the device may occur.
2.
If the weighing system will not used for a long time, remove the batteries from the device, since they
will become discharged and the battery electrolyte could leak and damage the device.
3.
Batteries must be treated as hazardous waste. Used batteries should not be mixed in with normal
household rubbish. Please follow the instructions given by the battery manufacturer concerning
battery disposal.
4.
As an option, the device can be used with rechargeable batteries. In this case, the device is provided
with a suitable charging outlet. Please make sure that no non-rechargeable batteries are fitted in the
device as the device could be damaged and operating safety could be adversely affected.
5.
In order to charge the batteries in the device use only the manufacturer’s charging unit (for the
module, please see accessories). If a different charging unit is used, the device could be damaged
and its operating safety adversely affected.
6.
Avoid constant high air humidity and condensation. Protect the device against water spray and
chemicals.
7.
Fully satisfactory operation can only be ensured when the following operating conditions are met:
Air humidity:
0 - 90% (without condensation)
Ambient temperature:
0 - 40°C
8.
Never perform any repairs on the electrical/mechanical system of the devices yourself. The device
must be serviced (except for battery changing) only by a technical support organisation authorized by
ITOWA S.A.U.
9.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for any damages arising from nonobservance of the cautions
concerning risk contained herein.
