Safety information
Attention!
▪
The counter is attached to an installation base. This is
why you must always pick up and transport the ultego III
perfect on the thread connection and never on the
counter.
▪
The unit may only be mounted by authorized expert per-
sonell!
▪
The ultego III perfect is exclusively intended to be used
with circuit water in heating systems. Do not use with
drinking water.
▪
Use of the meter in heating systems with water-glycol
mixtures is not permitted.
▪
The devices may only be installed and deinstalled in de-
pressurized systems.
▪
After installation, perform a leak test (cold flush).
▪
Only use the meter under operating conditions as de-
scribed on the nameplate, otherwise risks can occur and
the warranty expires.
▪
Breaking the security stamp voids both the warranty and
conformity or calibration.
▪
The 110 V / 230 V versions shall only be connected by
an electrician.
▪
Only one compartment for the power supply must be
equipped – do not remove the red locking hatch.
▪
Flash protection cannot be guaranteed. This must be
secured via the domestic installation.
▪
Observe the regulations for the application of heat me-
ters (see EN 1434, Part 6)! Cavitation in the system has
to be prevented!
▪
Install the unit in such a way that no water can penetrate
into the calculator during operation. Particularly in the
case of using the unit for cold metering make sure that
no condensed water can run into the calculator along the
connected lines (form a downward loop).
▪
The following applies in Germany for MID-conform de-
vices: for new installations in pipelines smaller/equal DN
25, shortsensors may only be installed directly im-
mersed!
▪
Only clean the ultego III perfect with a soft, damp cloth.
Installation notices
▪
Calibration seals of the ultego III perfect may not be
damaged or removed! Otherwise the warranty and cali-
bration validity of the device will be void!
▪
All lines have to be laid at a minimum clearance of
300 mm to power or high-frequency cables.
▪
Cavitation caused by overpressure must be avoided
within the whole measurement range, i.e. at least 1 bar
at q
p
and approx. 3 bar for overload q
s
(applies to ap-
prox. 80 °C).
▪
The installation site (backflow/flow) is indicated on the
meter face. Please refer to the dimensions and check
whether there is sufficient free space.
▪
If the ultego III perfect is installed in the joint return flow
of two heating circuits, e.g. heating and hot water, the in-
stallation location must be sufficiently far, i.e. at least 10
DN from the T-piece, so that the different temperatures
can mix properly.
▪
The temperature sensors must be installed in the same
heater or cooling circuit like the flow sensor (mind ad-
mixtures / one-circuit rule).
▪
The immersion sleeves must reach at least up to the
middle of the pipe diameter. The exact minimum immer-
sion depth ofthe sleeve into the flowing medium de-
pends on the approval of the applied temperature
sensor.
▪
Temperature sensor: the cables may not be divided,
shortened or extended.
Notices on installation for cold metering
▪
When mounting a cold meter or combined heat/cold me-
ter, make sure the black cover on the measuring tube is
