Revision 00
Alarm:
Two opto-coupled alarm outputs, via a 4 pole Phoenix style screw terminal block on the rear panel, switches to
open circuit on alarm conditions.
Alarm 1:
Pins 1 & 2 form the Transmitter alarm. A Transmitter alarm is activated when a laser
module has failed, or if all transmitter input channels have been disabled.
Alarm 2:
Pins 3 & 4 form the Receiver alarm. A Receiver alarm is activated when there is a total
optical input loss to the unit, or if all transmitter channels have been disabled.
Note that if a unit is a Transmit only the receive alarms are not active. Likewise for a Receive only model, the
transmit alarm pins are not active.
In Band Data Communication:
For data communication, an optional 1390nm & 1410nm single mode optical port is available for connection to a
corresponding SFP or SPF+ optical transceiver on a network switch. A single mode 1390nm SFP or SFP+ transceiver
is connected on one side of the link and a mode 1410nm SFP or SFP+ transceiver on the other side of the link. SFP
or SFP compatible SFP transceivers can be used or Cisco CWDM-SFP10G-1410-20 Compatible 10G CWDM SFP+
1390nm or 1410nm 20km DOM Transceiver Modules.
Optical:
The standard optical connector is an SC/PC type. This is a single optically muxed/de-muxed fibre connector sharing
up to 16 optical transmit/receive digital video s bi-directional Ethernet traffic depending on the model of
DTR-1000 unit. As such, optical laser outputs are multiplexed together. Avoid direct exposure to the eyes. A dust
cap is included for when unit is not connected to an optical fibre.
WARNING:
Class 3B laser device. Never look directly into the optical connector at the back of the
DTR-1000. Optically multiplexed laser output levels are greater than individual laser outputs and can
potentially cause damage to the eyes.
