SECTION THREE

INSTALLATION

After choosing a suitable location (see previous section) install the unit as follows:

The unit is suitable for connection to a 240V 50Hz electricity supply. It is suggested that
2-core round flexible cable of 1mm² gauge is used. An internal switch should be installed to
switch the power to the unit ON & OFF. This allows the sensor to be easily switched off when not
required or for maintenance purposes.

Mark the position of the fitting holes.
Drill the holes. Insert wallplugs into the holes.

When installing the PAR 38 lamps, ensure the rubber gasket is securely fitted to cover the metal
rim of the lamp and the lampholder.

*** IMPORTANT ***

Switch off the electricity at the fuse box by removing the relevant fuse or switching off

the circuit breaker before proceeding with the installation.

CONNECTION

This product can be wired in one of two ways:

Method 1

The unit comes pre-wired with approximately
1 metre of cable.  Connect as follows:

Drill a hole through the wall at the mounting

position.

Pass the pre-wired cable through the hole.

Connect this cable into the household mains

supply using an internal junction box (not
supplied) as follows.

NEUTRAL = Blue

LIVE = Brown

Method 2

Wiring connections can be made directly into
the unit’s wiring box using alternative cable.

Remove the backplate by unscrewing the

four retaining screws.

Remove the existing cable from the

terminals.

Pass the new cable through the entry

grommet and secure under the cable clamp.

Connect the cable to the terminals :

NEUTRAL = Blue

LIVE = Brown

Re-fit the backplate, ensuring the foam

gasket is correctly in place.
