Component failures

14.4.1

Boot drive failure

The HVR8 Hybrid Cloud NVR allows the boot disk to be restored in case of boot failure or corruption. This
is done by a device-specific Recovery Disk that is created by IONODES Technical Support.

On request, the HVR8 Recovery Disk image will be created and made available for download to the
customer. The image can then be written to an external hard drive or USB key in order to boot the HVR8
device and proceed to a complete boot disk recovery.

14.4.2

Storage drive failure

In order to replace a faulty storage drive please follow these steps:

1) Unscrew the 4 screws on the back of the chassis (2 on the left-hand side and 2 on the right-hand
side) using a Philips-head screwdriver

2) Flip the chassis over so that the bottom is facing upwards and unscrew the 3 screws marked
below with a Philips-head screwdriver
