6.3:B Test Patterns, cont'd.

4-INCH FEED PATTERN (registration adjustment)

By printing the “4-INCH FEED PATTERN”, vertical and horizon-
tal linearity over a sheet of paper can be checked, though it is
impossible with the “NOZ. ADJ. PATTERN”. The linearity may
be sometimes degraded partially due to uneven paper feeding or for
some other reasons. To check the result of vertical or horizontal
registration adjustment over a sheet of paper, print this chart. If the
vertical or horizontal linearity is unsatisfactory according to the
result of printed “4-INCH FEED PATTERN”, print the “NOZ.
ADJ. PATTERN 2”, read the values of the portions 2, on previous
page.
