1.9.10 Share Bus-Connection
The 2 pole WAGO socket (“Share”) on the backside of the device is provided for
connection to equally-named sockets on compatible power supply series to achieve a
balanced load current distribution during parallel connection. The socket is also used
to connect the power supply to compatible electronic loads to build a two-quadrants
operation setup. The following power supply and electronic load series are compatible:
• PSI 9000 2U
• PSI 9000 3U
• ELR 9000
1.9.11 Sense connector (remote sensing)
To compensate for voltage drops along the DC cables to the load, the Sense input
can be connected to the load.
The maximum possible compensation is given in the technical specifications.
1.9.12 Master-Slave bus
Another port is provided on the backside of the device, comprised of two RJ45 sock-
ets, which enables multiple identical devices to be connected through a digital bus
(RS485) to create a master-slave system. Connectivity is made using standard CAT5
cables. These can theoretically have a length of up to 1200 m, but it is recommended
to keep the connections as short as possible.
1.9.13 GPIB port (optional)
The optional GPIB connector, which is available with option 3W, will replace the
Anybus slot of standard version devices. The device then offers a three-way interface
with GPIB, USB and analog.
The connection to a PC or other GPIB port is done using standard GPIB cables from
stock, which can have straight or 90° connectors.
If cable with 90° connectors is used the USB port will be inaccessible.
