For the sporadic connecting and charging of an external battery you do not have to change the
Battery
Capacity Setting on the LCD. However, if you do this the
prediction times displayed will be
incorrect whilst
you have the external battery connected (and will revert to correct functionality when the external battery
is
removed).
Alternatively, you can connect the external battery via the RHS
Anderson Connector for effective charging, however this is not
recommended as the ToughPower
Low Voltage Shutdown
protections
will
not
comply
to
the
external
Battery
connected
this
way.
Note:
As soon as you connect the external Battery to the ToughPower
the two Batteries will commence “equalising” their Voltage. You will need to ensure a Charging Source is
attached
and
charging
otherwise
you
risk
flattening
the
ToughPower
Battery.
Note: Take special care to attach the Battery Terminals correctly! It must be
Parallel Connection - Red to
Red (Positive to Positive), and Black to Black (Negative to Negative). Incorrect terminals connection will
cause
permanent
damage
to
the
sensitive
electronics
inside
the
ToughPower.
